Drake On The Cover Of XXL Mag’s 150th Issue

Drake_150

It’s been Drake’s week so far! Fresh off his spectacular OVOFEST in Toronto, XXL decided to let the cat out of the bag! Aubrey is on the cover of the magazine 16th anniversary issue. Here’s a small excerpt on “Nothing was the same” LP. Hits new stands August 20th.

I remember coming into this year thinking, “How am I going to cut through all these people and shine?” I’ve never been part of a year when so many legends are dropping projects. How am I going to be seen? I’m going to be like the kid waving in the background in the photo with all of his tall relatives. And, I guess, those were my initial thoughts, and not to say that I haven’t enjoyed some of the stuff that has come out this year, but it didn’t pan out the way I thought it was going to. I think I am going for it, to really establish what are murmurs or things being said quietly, “Um, I think that Drake might actually…” On September 17th I want people to be like, “Oh, we were right.”

Rick Ross On Being Dropped From Reebok

rick-ross reebok

After being dropped from Reebok, Rozay released an official statement on being dropped and an apology.

“I want to thank Reebok Classics for their hard work and dedication over this past year.Good partners, good shoe.continued success.

Before I am an artist, I am a father, a son, and a brother to some of the most cherished women in the world. So for me to suggest in any way that harm and violation be brought to a woman is one of my biggest mistakes and regrets. As an artist, one of the most liberating things is being able to paint pictures with my words. But with that comes a great responsibility. And most recently, my choice of words was not only offensive, it does not reflect my true heart. And for this, I apologize. To every woman that has felt the sting of abuse, I apologize. I recognize that as an artist I have a voice and with that, the power of influence. To the young men who listen to my music, please know that using a substance to rob a woman of her right to make a choice is not only a crime, it’s wrong and I do not encourage it. To my fans, I also apologize if I have disappointed you. I can only hope that this sparks a healthy dialogue and that I can contribute to it.”

After the jump, read what UltraViolet co-founder, Nita Chaudhary, had to say about Reebok dismissing Rozay.
