|News| Lil Wayne Covers New XXL Mag July/August Issue
Weezy is stuntin’ like is Daddy on the new cover of XXL magazine. Issue hits newsstands nationwide on July 12th. In this exclusive interview, Tunechi mentions Carter 4 might be his last offering to the world & retirement is near. Here’s a quick excerpt:
I’m bowing out still on top. I’ma make y’all me when I retire. I’ma make y’all be like, ‘Nooo!’ I ain’t leaving out this bitch when y’all be like, ‘Yeah, it’s about time, dawg.’ Carter IV might be my last one. I’ma make y’all be like, ‘Fuck!’ Yeah, nigga, I’m gone. Honestly, this is the real truth. I honestly think it’s unfair to my kids. I’m super dedicated into what I do. Like, it’s no questions—it’s hands down, I do this. I live this. I don’t have a day out my week that I do something else. I do this every day of my life, and I’m not about to stop, ’cause that’s the only way you can succeed in this business, is to do it the way I do it. I want to succeed the way I want to succeed. You can succeed. You can put out a hit… But to do it the way I want to do it, to be comfortable to do what the fuck I want to do, you’ve got to work like no other. Like I said, it’s unfair to my kids. So about 30, 31, 32, I gotta get ready.

Bruno Mars x Wiz Khalifa x B.o.B Cover VIBE Mag Feb/March Issue

You may not get why we are calling them “The New Pop Music” but the truth is each of them has taken their own sound and infiltrated the masses thereby making them figures in popular culture and pop music. Don’t front, you know you can turn to any Top 40 music station and hear their music.
WIZ KHALIFA: Potheads and hippies, we flock. We’re peaceful as hell. You don’t hear about my concerts getting shot up or people getting beat up because they was too high and turned into a weed monster.
BRUNO MARS: I’m a fan of young Elvis. And I’m a fan of the story, how he freaked out white America by doing this Black rock’n’roll. He would go onstage shaking his hips, and people were freaking out. They said, “You can’t film him from the waist down.” To me, that’s fucking awesome.
B.o.B: My loyalty is not to any corporation, my loyalty is to the music. That doesn’t mean that I don’t work with corporations, it doesn’t mean that I don’t sell music—it just means that first I’m an artist regardless of anything.
Hits newsstands February 22nd.

|News| SLAM 143: Derrick Rose Wants To Be MVP (Mag Cover)
If you think about it, there aren’t many better stories in the NBA than Derrick Rose’s. Kid comes up in Chicago, anointed a future NBA star by the time he’s 15, leads the city’s most-storied high school program to state- and nation-wide acclaim, takes his college team to the national championship game as a freshman, and then gets picked first—by his hometown Bulls—in the Draft. Derrick’s dream has continued right into the L, as he’s put up two great seasons and has set his sights on “best player in the game” status. It’s more than enough to warrant putting this exciting young player on the first SLAM cover he has all to himself.
This issue also got an “Old School” segment on one of my favorite player growing up, Mitch Richmond!
